I love DJing too. Back in 2019 I started a monthly podcast for new music. I was my way of being a radio presenter without having to play rubbish. The podcast isn’t new anymore, but the tracklists are still brilliant, so feel free to check the archive.

I’m basically just trying to build an audience of music lovers who like things a little different, before starting up with the monthly podcast again. Ideally I can start sharing new alternative and electronic music with my girl if she ends up loving music like the rest of my family do! Ah Liars. Pure magic on so many levels. Ideal for fans of Portishead I think. It’s all really playful and real. I play their records quite a lot really, do you? Another nice release to celebrate 50 years of Rough Trade. There are so many high points throughout this album, what’s your favourite track? I could go on and on about The Bug. A truly unique production style, he’s nailed his sound and still keeps pushing dub in a fun and creative way. Awesome collabs - I have some AWESOME tunes on vinyl. What’s your favourite? I enjoyed the video from Queens today. Is this their most accessible record? So many tunes to choose from, what a band! I’d love to have seen them around this time - must have been pretty intense! If you’ve got a turntable, I think something from Trentemøller is essential. Great for late nights, early starts, working from home. His catalog is pretty brilliant. Don’t look up how this artwork was made whatever you do - it totally kills whatever epic image you have in your head the first time you see it! Ha ha! He’s great live too, ever catch a show? I wish I’d bought all of the Uffie records while they were affordable. I have most singles but her stuff just feels so important now, like museum worthy! Ha ha! Got a favourite track of hers? An awesome set tonight from the mighty Marie Davidson. She’s so frickin cool and I love how much thought goes behind every track. Great live and fun, she’s just mega! Ever seen her? Have you ever heard of Gajek? This is the only record I own but I love how it feels pretty unique. It’s so great when you’re in a weird mood …like I am right now! Ha ha! How is it only Tuesday!? It’s always nice when artists share what they were listening to while working, and it’s been a while since I played this one! It feels like The Books have been gaining a lot of fans over the last 10 years or so. Maybe they could do a BOC and just throw out a new record after a long break! There’s so much to this record, I’m fascinated by it! The album flows so well and the subtle touches throughout each section keep it under your skin. It feels like they’ve found their formula now, and they’ve done such a good job capturing it all here. What’s your favourite track? I’ve been looking forward to the follow up for a while now! I saw her play these songs and it felt like a proper treat. She’s such a natural, I’d definitely recommend going to a gig if you get chance! Amazing What I love about this record, is the simplicity of it all. It feels stripped back, like if you saw them live it would have the same feel. At a time where overproduction rules on major labels, it’s a nicely made album. I’ve still not been able to see them live but I bet they’re great. Reminds me a bit of Turin Brakes but slightly poppier. Do you know Flyte? An absolute legend. Such a perfect voice and snappy lyrics too. What’s your favourite track by the mighty Emiliana Torrini? Nice surprise to see these essential records are getting a repress. Can’t recommend this bundle enough! I’ve played you a track from TWLITF already, so I’ve gone with Trust tonight because you might not know how brillliant it is. Definitely the start of their transition to what became their final sound I think. Absolutely loved this tour. Low are hands down the band I saw the most! I think everyone remembers their first time. Head over to Bleep to preorder I’m glad they pressed this to vinyl because there’s a few great moments in this soundtrack. I bet he found it challenging having to be restricted/selective to make his sound work with a game! This simple song is absolutely lovely. The way Guy sings ‘I’ve been over and over it’ gets in my head a LOT! Beautifully captured melody. What’s your favourite Elbow track? No words for this loss. #GlenHansard will probably always be my favourite artist. Undeniable truth, passion, fight. Pushing everything - every night. My hero. I’ve played a couple of Frames records here before, and it was nice to see people checking in since the shocking news. I’m about as devastated as possible, but feel so pleased to have found this sound at such a young age. Definitely my biggest inspiration as a songwriter. Delving into each word rather than each beat hits so much harder. He was so genuine. Just imagine if he’d never taken Jeff Buckley to Sin-e!
